A word from the Director:

The great thing about Rodgers and Hart and the way we introduce the show is that one can say, before there was Rodgers and Hammerstein and the Sound of Music, Oklahoma, Carousel and those shows we all know so well; there was Rodgers and Hart and believe it or not, you will know every song in the show!

And they always do.   People come up to us and say Oh, I love that Frank Sinatra song, “The Lady is a Tramp” or isn't that the theme song from "You Got Mail" (with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks)?  Yes, it is, it's "I Could Write a Book.”   Who can forget Judy Garland's rendition of "My Funny Valentine?"  People say... oh I haven't heard that song in such a long time, “Johnny One Note” really took me back... or, I used to dance to that song “Lover” in New York during the Floor Shows at the Rainbow Room!   They don't write music like that anymore!

We do 15 songs from 9 of the Rodgers and Hart shows and movies. You'll know every one of these great standards!

We spin a story about a handsome gent talking about the girl of his dreams.   He's preparing to go on the town; "You Are Too Beautiful."  He's whimsical and questions his feelings and soon we meet her; “Wait Till You Meet Her" and "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World".  They play out their affection with movement in song;"Isn't It Romantic?" and "Thou Swell” and soon the song fest begins!
